Slater has demonstrated a complete innate understanding of how to turn out nicely modified cars on a budget, he has done this whilst being always approachable, friendly and ready to offer advice. Winner : Peter Brock
Comment : I was shown a video once by my dad, it was from Mount Panorama and had these hugely overpowered Australian cars racing up and down it. Storming away from everyone was Peter Brock, a man who never lost his passion for cars and racing. Sadly this year he died. A true retro great till the end.

So that’s in for another Retro Rides Awards. 2006 was the best year so far for the retro scene, what will 2007 bring? New shows, new magazines, new cars, new people. The future is bright.
