What is Retro Rides all about?

Now there is a question! The forum started as a place to discuss different marques of classic and modified classic cars. Defining what cars we actually discuss is a little tricky, there some general threads that ties them all together. The cars are generally a peoples car of some sort, rather than out of reach sports cars, or they are an under appreciated classic. The cars tend to be modified either aesthetically, mechanically or both. They tend to be over 20 years old. More often than not they would be what most people consider budget classics.

However, they may not conform to any of these things, this is what makes what we do so interesting. So if you've got a 1973 Vauxhall Viva dropped over BBS alloys, or a 1906 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, we'll be as interested to hear about your experiences and what its like to own your car, because above everything else Retro Rides is about a love of cars.

How do I post pictures on the forum?

One of the most common problems on any forum is the posting of images. Any image you want to post has to be hosted somewhere on the web, which means if you want to post an image currently on your computer you will need to get it online first. There are a couple of ways to do this, many ISPs provide web space when you sign up for an account so if they do dig out the details and upload it to your own web space. The other alternative is to use free image hosting services, such as Shutterfly. Once your image is online you need to find out the URL/Location of the image.
In your message on the board you can then insert your image by typing

How do I change my signature on the forum?

When your logged into the forum there is a series of buttons along the top, one of which says "profile", if you click in here you will find your signature near the bottom of the page. You will also be able to update and edit your personal information.

What are the rules?

The main rule is to try and stay on topic, their are plenty of places on the net to discuss the weather and such things, however this is one of the only places to discuss classic and modified classic cars. Other than that, try not to get abusive if you disagree with anything (although the board has an amusing filter that will deflate any sweary arguments pretty quick). Other than that, the number one rule is to enjoy the forum.
