Hi everyone, I don't post much but figure this is as good a place to ask for some opinions on project cars!
I have a Scimitar that I took off the road in about 2012 to overhaul. Shortly after I did the whole buy house (DIY project), get married, have kids thing. After some initial enthusiasm dismantling it, in the last few years I've had the very occasional day off and evening doing things with it. Not much has happened and at the moment it's in the garage in pieces. The body needs lifting to repair the chassis then the plan is to engine swap and tidy everything else up.
While the enthusiasm to finish it is there the time to do so isn't, and the enormity of the task ahead is daunting. When I started I had a lot more space to work in; now in my single garage, while I think I could lift the body off, how do I then work on the chassis (and the body) whilst also having space to store the body and the parts I've removed.
The positives of finishing it (being able to use it and enjoy it in the nice weather) seem a long way off, whereas the positives of getting rid and using the space for other things are starting to appeal. Using my garage time to keep just two nice dailies going rather than having the scimitar in the mix is probably better use of my time? I could use the garage to work on the daily car when needed rather than rolling around on the drive, and to store the inevitable kids paraphernalia (how many bikes and scooters do they need?). The wife and my Dad keep saying I'll never finish it and to get rid but I'm not sure keeping it to prove a point and to spite them is the best reason
Anyway, not sure why I'm posting but thought sharing this with people who "get it" might help me decide which way I go with this.
